God has written and continues to write an amazing story in my life and I write to tell you about EVERY day that is full of God’s grace and love. He will show us ALL that, if we pray for Him to open our hearts and our eyes to the perspective that keeps us looking to Him in all things and if we renew our minds with His Word which is the imprint of who He is.
Here is the low down on what my life on earth looks like. I am married to an atheist (gasp!). Read more about that here. I wasn’t a believer when we were married but God pursued me relentlessly through my lifestyle of debauchery and poor decisions. Those decisions led to not so pretty consequences (almost failed marriage, drinking, DUI, trouble conceiving) and that was just in my 30’s. Before that my lifestyle was even worse. I won’t go into EVERY detail but just imagine it, and I did it. I was saved in 2010. (Here is my testimony). God has delivered me from MUCH. He has redeemed everything. I am white as snow!
So yes, now I am saved, on fire for the Lord and my husband came to the realization that He doesn’t believe there is a God. Devastating at first but quickly God brought me to a place of submission and God’s grace has rained down on my family ever since. My marriage is thriving, our family is blessed beyond measure, because God IS who He says He is. He is faithful, provides all our needs, He is our strength, and when we have our foundation in Him, we cannot be shaken. I have had many verses given to me to counsel me in what God says about spiritually unequal marriages and I am comforted by them all. But Luke 6:47-48 is what I cling to and what my life looks like.
“Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.”
I am a stay at home mom with my sweet daughter SG. We are growing our family through adoption, (a little more about that here), fostering MK now, but adoption will be complete soon! (Update: We now have a third daughter as of 2018!) Our family color is tie-dye, our family motto is “We’re the Boones, we feed people”, we have dance-offs often, and there is currently a unicycle in my house (a Valentine gift from my husband that I will write about soon). My husband is the kindest man I know, he is patient and gentle, he has never once raised his voice at me or my daughter. He is a smarty pants, pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership, and has his masters in Mathematics.
I write about what I am learning in God’s Word and how He moves and works in my life daily because it is just so lavishly poured on me. I HAVE to praise him yet more and more! “But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them. I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.” Psalms 71:14-16. It’s not a perfect picture, there are struggles, but He is a perfect God. I daily see my sin ever before me but that just amplifies the perfect work Christ did for me, and oh I want you all to soak that in too. I want to tell of His wonderful deeds to everyone and I pray you see His glory through it all. “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36.
I am crazy about this!
